What is Psychosis?
Psychotic episodes are symptomatic of certain mental health conditions, commonly associated with one of the following disorders:
- Schizophrenia
- Severe forms of Bipolar disorder
- Certain types of Depression
Signs and Symptoms of Psychosis
Depending on the underlying cause of the disorder, symptoms of psychosis can include:
- Hallucinations
- Delusions
- Disorganized thoughts
- Incoherent speech
- Self-injury
Inpatient Treatment for Psychosis
Inpatient hospitalization is often the most appropriate environment to begin the treatment process. Our multidisciplinary team of psychiatrists, therapists and clinicians will work closely with you to understand the underlying cause of the psychosis and determine specific treatment needs.
Your plan of care can include:
- Holistic therapies: yoga therapy, pet therapy, recreation therapy, psychodrama
- Educational programs: mindfulness training, fitness and wellness education, nutrition education
